Citric Acid
 

Citric acid is used in a wide variety of applications including drinks, confectionery  and foodstuffs, both as a flavoring agent and in improving the stability of foods by suppressing the deleterious action of dissolved metal salts. It is also used in cleaning products.

It is extracted from citrus fruits or manufactured by fermentation of cane sugar or molasses.
