In 2002, Purac acquired all the gluconate-related business of Glucona, and can now offer a wide range of gluconates.

Gluconates play a part in the manufacturing of many different types of product we see in everyday life. You find gluconates in industries such as food, beverages, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, oral care, cleaning/soap, film, and paper. The number of applications in all industries continues to grow.

Gluconates are obtained by the fermentation of glucose and operate as carriers for minerals, acidifiers, and chelating agents. What makes gluconates so special is that the availability of these natural raw materials is unlimited thanks to their endlessly renewable sources.

As Purac's New Zealand agent, Ingredient Techniques NZ Ltd is able to offer gluconate products (currently) by indent only.
